Originally a printing works for the Bank of England, Zetland House, based in the heart of Shoreditch, is a distinctive and unusual character property. It has now been refurbished and repurposed as a set of modern office spaces and is used by a mix of businesses in the creative sector.
Recently, a new staircase area was being designed, and platform lift experts, Invalifts were consulted to give their input into the feasibility of a lift for disabled access. The lift needed to serve three floors and be situated at the centre of the staircase, whilst being glazed on all four sides to ensure the space retained it’s light and airy feel.
The MC2000 Platform lift, with it’s compact footprint and self supporting structure was installed by Invalifts, as it was the ideal solution for this access requirement. It’s unique twin guided chain drive provides a smooth ride whilst still ensuring maximum space within the lift. The client wanted the lift to blend in well with the industrial surroundings, so the lift was finished in the colour RAL7010 Tarpaulin Grey, with fully glazed doors for maximum aesthetic appeal.
