A Special Lift for a Special Home
Near the picturesque town of Biggar, South Lanarkshire, nestled in the shadow of Tinto Hill lives Hartree House. This beautiful country estate has been lovingly restored by Mike and Stephanie, the owners, who have been working on the restoration since 2009.
The grounds of Hartree House are now used as a wedding venue, but the house itself remains a private residence. The owners wanted to future proof the property with a lift, and Invalifts were contacted by another lift company for their specific expertise, to supply and install a platform lift.
The lift needed to be compact in order to minimise impact on living space, but also needed to be stylish to fit in with the interior design of the building. The Inva Homelift was chosen as it had a footprint of just 1350mm x 950mm whilst still having a very useable platform space of 1220mm x 870mm.
The lift was powder coated in an anthracite grey (RAL 7016 ) finish, matched with a fully glazed shaft to maximise the light into the area complementing the glazed upper floors and colour scheme. The doors to the lift were also glazed whilst maintaining a 30 minute fire rating in order to comply with the fire regulations for the property. In order to give a modern and clean look, the platform console and handrail were finished in stainless steel.
To comply with European safety standards, the lift was required to have a communication device, so an auto dialer was included that would phone 5 preset numbers in the case of an emergency.
The Inva Homelift has an encapsulated chain drive system that makes the unit extremely space efficient and can be produced with a footprint of just 1150mm x 950mm. The unit comes with a 12 months parts and labour guarantee, 5 years parts guarantee on the motor and gearbox and a 10 year parts guarantee on the drive chains.
