St Georges Nursing Home wanted to provide access to its 1st floor for residents and visitors. The space available for the lift was very small and ruled out traditional lifts and most platform lifts. Invalifts offered the Homelift as an option, with its small shaft footprint of just 1250mm by 950mm it was the perfect fit. The client decided on a glazed shaft to maximise the light in the stairwell and give the user the feeling of being in a larger lift.
It was important to the client that the older residents had communication with someone in case of emergency and so a warden controlled communication device was added by secondary supplier and integrated with the lift control panel.
