Pizza Express gets a stair platform lift
Pizza Express in High Holborn, just minutes away from Covent Garden and the theatres is a bustling and busy restaurant situated on the edge of the city of London. The lively restaurant is set over several floors and includes a stage in the basement for entertainment and parties.
Invalifts were approached by Pizza Express to look at the possibility of providing disabled access via a stair platform lift to a room in this restaurant that was currently being served by a straight staircase of 15 steps.
Invalifts made an initial site survey and recommended their Inva Stair Riser platform lift to enable access. This lift has a 1000mm x 800mm sized fold down platform which would be suitable for wheelchairs. The unit was specified with a capacity of 300Kg in order to accommodate heavier wheelchairs.
As there was an existing structural wall, it was decided to mount the stainless steel rails directly to the wall rather than using stanchions that would have encroached into the stair width. The client decided to have the unit in the standard colour of RAL 9006 (grey) as this matched the surrounding colours.
The Inva Stair Riser comes with an amazing 3 year warranty which in itself highlights the quality and reliability of the unit. The restaurant was very happy with their stair platform lift, and pleased that they have enabled access for people with wheelchairs.
