Just announced by Invalifts Ltd, the leading powered access suppliers, is a totally new concept in conventional lifts with the major emphasis on space and economy.
The M6000 is a small footprint, guided chain driven lift for existing buildings which will fit into spaces where traditional lifts cannot, thanks to the model being supplied complete with it’s own self supporting enclosure, which can be provided with either steel or glazed panels. Building works and costs are kept to an absolute minimum as the unit only requires a 1000mm deep pit, together with a vertical aperture through the building and an area to house the controller. It is designed primarily for easy installation in or by existing stairwells or atriums.
The M6000 can travel up to 24 metres and serve 8 different levels. It has a maximum load of 675kg and travels at 0.3m per second in complete safety. It is conventionally built to EN81 standards and can be supplied in an enclosure which is glazed to all 4 sides.
“You could say we have entered a niche market, because these space saving lifts have been designed to fit into the smallest space especially in multi-level residential buildings,” explained Neil Davies, a joint owner of Invalifts. There are 120 shaft size configurations with a minimum of just 750mm by 1000mm, up to maximum of 1750mm by 1300mm or 2160mm by 1000mm, automatic centre opening car doors are fitted as standard and a number of interior finishes and extras are available.
“There is a minimum impact on the existing building and a higher return on investment because the value of a building can rise by up to 20 per cent following the installation of a lift,” he added.
Invalifts also supplies the high quality MC2000 platform lift which can reach up to 13 metres and serve six floor levels. The company, which has just been successful in becoming accredited for both ISO 9001.2000 and the Lift Regulations, is an inaugural member of the UK Platform and Stairlift Association.
