Showstopping platform lift for Titchfield Theatre
Titchfield Festival Theatre is one of the UK’s largest amateur theatre groups. Located on the South coast of Hampshire, the theatre has recently undergone a major refurbishment including new foyer, reception area and toilets.
Working directly with the client, Invalifts were contacted to advise and supply a suitable lift to give full access to all three levels. After a full site survey, their lift experts recommended a three floor MC2000 platform lift, with an open through arrangement allowing the lift to serve the intermediate upper ground floor level. This lift has no requirement for a structural wall or installation lifting beams.
The MC2000 offers a Part M fully compliant platform size of 1120mm x 1480mm, whilst only taking a space in the building of 1250mm x 1560mm. The lift also provides full compliance to the Machinery Directive and EN81-41, giving the most lift space with the smallest possible footprint.
Coming complete with it’s own shaft, the lift was produced with solid white panels and glazed doors with a midbar. In order to comply with regulation EN81-41, the lift must have a means of emergency communication, so an intercom was fitted.
To enable access at the lower level, a small chequer plate ramp was fitted, removing the requirement for a 60mm pit at the base of the lift.
With a full parts and labour warranty for 12 months, with a 5 year parts warranty on the motor and gearbox and a 10 year warranty on the drive chains, the lift will provide theatre goers access for many years to come.
