Platform lift a perfect fit for Orangetheory
Orangetheory fitness in Altrincham is a gym with a difference, as their workouts combine science, coaching and technology to offer the optimum workout. As this was a new gym, access was required from the ground level to the basement area, so all users could fully utilise the facilities.
Working in partnership with MGPM Limited and Welcomm Health & Fitness Limited, Invalifts were contacted to provide a disabled access solution between the two levels. Our lift experts surveyed the site, and recommended the MC2000 platform lift with a footprint of just 1250mm x 1560mm giving a fully Part M compliant platform size of 1120mm 1480mm.
The client requested that the unit blend into the building environment and let as much light into the basement area as possible, so a fully glazed shaft and glazed doors were included. A paint colour of white aluminium (RAL9006) was chosen for the shaft in order to match in with the signature orange colour used in the building. Stainless steel door handles were used for the doors to match the stair handrails.
In order to comply with regulation EN81-41, the lift must have a means of emergency communication, so an intercom was fitted with the receiver unit being located at the manned reception desk.
The client did not want to make alterations to the basement concrete slab and so the usual 60mm pit was replaced by a small chequer plate ramp at the lower level in order to provide wheelchair access into the lift.
The lift was supplied with a full parts and labour warranty for 12 months, with a 5 year parts warranty on the motor and gearbox and a 10 year warranty on the drive chains, providing the client peace of mind for future use.
