5 storey cabin platform lift for Sefton Park
Sefton Park House is a half way house based in Weston-Super-Mare offering a therapeutic community to support and challenge people with drug and alcohol addiction.
The building had an existing passenger lift with a full counterweight which had reached the end of it’s life and was uneconomical to repair, so they contacted Invalifts to enquire about the possibility of replacing the lift with something better.
Invalifts recommended their M6000LS platform cabin lift which could travel the five floors and comes complete with a self supporting shaft which could be fitted within the existing shaft. The client approved this, and Invalifts began by removing the existing lift and associated mechanisms.
Then followed some remedial work to alter the pit, as only 100mm was required, and the floors were adjusted to suit the requirements of the new lift, before the installation of a new M6000LS lift was completed. A shaft size of 1100 x 1400mm allowed the space efficient lift to have an internal cabin size of 900 x 1250mm, whilst just a single phase electrical supply powers the lift.
The cabin was specified with automatic centre opening doors, single press button operation and an autodialer as standard, whilst due to the internal building restrictions, bespoke 1900mm doors were installed at each landing in place of the standard two metre doors.
