Delivered NationwideCarters, the largest independent furniture retailer in Worcestershire, operates from two expansive sites in Kidderminster with combined showroom space exceeding 40,000 square feet. To improve accessibility for customers and facilitate the movement of light goods, Carters sought platform lifts for both locations.
Invalifts was selected to supply and install their versatile Motala 2000 Cabin Platform Lift. An ideal choice due to its flexible platform sizes and range of configuration options.
Carters Furniture Store Installation
At the main furniture showroom, the lift needed to support customer access between floors while restricting access to staff-only areas.
We installed the Motala 2000 Cabin Platform Lift within an existing shaft, engineered to bespoke dimensions. A key locking system was incorporated for the top landing, giving staff exclusive access to specific areas.
Carters Bed Centre Installation
For the adjacent Bed Centre, we delivered a larger 1120mm x 1680mm platform, specified to accommodate goods alongside passengers. An open adjacent door configuration, featuring a ground-floor entrance on the long side and an upper-floor exit on the short side, made the most of all available space, and a partially glazed shaft was also incorporated to improve the overall showroom experience by providing visibility to the ground floor during transit.
To eliminate the need for a pit, a ramp was installed at the lower level.
