Cutting edge design on the banks of the River Dee
An exciting new build house in Aberdeen was at the early stages of the design, when Invalifts were contacted for their expert advice regarding a platform lift. The new house was situated on the banks of the River Dee and was to be a state of the art build with cutting edge design.
Invalifts identified the ideal location in the house plans for the lift to be situated. The client had requested that the lift was not to be a “dominant feature” in the house, therefore it was decided to orientate the lift doors on the long side of the shaft so that they were not seen from the main entrance of the house.
The MC2000 Platform lift was chosen as the ideal access solution and was built with a bespoke measurement of a slightly smaller width than a standard unit, in order for it to fit between two ceiling beams. The unit measurements of 1150mm x 1590mm gave a useable platform of 1020mm x 1480mm. As the unit is self supporting the client did not have to construct supporting walls for the lift with all loadings being taken through the 60mm pit.
The lift installation was completed in just 2 days on site, with the property owner commenting “just a brief note to commend your two engineers who have installed my lift. They were extremely professional, efficient and took the time to explain everything as they were going along.”
