Electric Cabin Lifts for Public Buildings

Commercial cabin lifts offer the look and feel of a traditional passenger platform lift but without the need for a full lift shaft or machine room. Designed for low to medium-rise buildings, they provide enclosed, regulation-compliant access where space or budget restricts conventional lift options.

    • Nursing Homes: Our lifts offer reliable, smooth operation for residents and staff, day in and day out.
  • How much space is needed for installation?

Minimum headroom starts at 2,450mm for swing doors and 2,600mm for telescopic. Pit depth requirements are just 120mm with vinyl flooring, or 140mm with other floor finishes.

  • Is the Vimec AR:IA Commercial Cabin Lift compliant with UK safety standards?

Yes. The AR:IA fully complies with the European Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2014/30/EU), making it suitable for commercial use in the UK.

Absolutely. Choose from a range of wall finishes, glazed panels, door styles, flooring options, handrails, lighting setups, and access control features to suit your interior or brand requirements.

  • What happens in a power cut?

In the event of power failure, a built-in battery system lowers the lift safely to the nearest landing. The lift remains gently lit and includes an auto dialler with GSM backup for added safety.

  • Is the Vimec AR:IA Commercial Cabin Lift suitable for buildings without a machine room?

Yes. The AR:IA uses a machine-roomless (MRL) design, with all machinery housed within the shaft. No separate motor room is required.
