Trinity Church, in Great Harwood, 5 miles North East of Blackburn, was formed in 2010, when three churches joined together. The King Street building dates back to 1913 and used to house the Sunday School rooms. In November 2019, the premises were closed for a major refurbishment.
As a part of the refurbishment, a new lift was required to provide access to 3 different levels. Invalifts was chosen as the supplier of the new lift, and the SD1000 Large Capacity Platform Lift was recommended and fitted.
The SD1000 lift is a high quality, enclosed commercial platform lift with a 1000kg weight capacity and landing doors up to 1300mm wide, and is capable of serving up to 6 levels and 13 metres of travel. The large platform has dimensions of 1400mm wide and 2500mm long to handle a full range of loads and motorised wheelchairs.
The robust lift is designed for existing buildings needing just a 110mm recess in the lower floor, and no requirement for a structural wall shaft. To assist with entering and exiting the lift, there is the option of a hold open facility, which makes transporting larger, more challenging loads a lot easier.
The lift was an ideal solution for Trinity Church, and has enabled accessibility for all users of the building.
