Hospital Lifts

Low mobility entrances and stairs can make it very tricky to gain access to a hospital. Whether you have stairs externally or internally, it is important to have adequate solutions in place, so that everyone can access the building. The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005 has given disabled people the rights of access to everyday services; it is therefore essential and a legal requirement that you have fully functioning accessibility systems in order within your healthcare facility, whether a private or public sector NHS hospital.

Here at Invalifts, we have fitted many platform lifts in UK hospitals - by offering a range of solutions dependent upon your requirements. We provide an easy and reliable solution to your problem. We offer our Inva StairRiser which is a stair platform lift perfect for inclined access. Whereas the MC2000 Platform lift is a self-standing platform lift in its own steel clad/glazed shaft structure that includes the drive system and is suitable for 5 passengers. Minimal building work is required thus providing a convenient and cost effective outcome.

Invalifts is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of powered access equipment and has installed hundreds of platform lifts. We pride ourselves on providing a speedy and most importantly; efficient service while remaining aware of and compliant with all relevant Building Regulations. We offer servicing, a free access survey prior to installation as well as offering lift maintenance and servicing.

Leicester HospitalHealthcare Lift Installation Case Study

Leicester General Hospital, based on the outskirts of Leicester and lovingly referred to as the ‘Palace on the Hill’ by local residents, is host to the headquarters of University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

When the education department required a replacement platform lift recently, they were having difficulty in finding a company that could supply and fit a platform lift in the small area of space available. Every company that came out to provide a quote for the work, simply didn’t have a lift that would fit.

Installing the lift in a tight space

The specifiers contacted Midlands based powered access suppliers Invalifts, who were able to provide the MC2000 platform lift that would meet the tight space requirements and prove safe, easy-to-use and extremely reliable. The lift was able to fit the small area required, with an amazingly small footprint of just 1250mm by 1250mm.

The MC2000 is self-standing platform lift in its own steel clad or glazed structure that includes the drive system. It is operated by single phase 240v power and no overhead machinery room or large pit beneath the unit is required. Because the model has its own freestanding shaft, and complies with UK and EC Directives covering safety, fire and machinery, minimal building work is required thus providing a convenient and cost effective answer for architects and specifiers. The units are widely accepted by Local Authority Access Officers.

Quick Installation

Invalifts were able to undertake the whole project for Leicester General Hospital, including building works, and a trouble-free installation of the lift was completed within just two days with minimal disruption to the Education department. The whole project was completed within a week.

Invalifts is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of powered access equipment and has installed hundreds of platform lifts in schools, libraries, churches, night clubs, leisure centres and commercial buildings. They specialize in providing small footprint platform lifts and have recently introduced a small footprint, self-contained passenger lift which is self-supporting and designed ideally to fit into tight spaces such as stairwells.

The company prides itself on providing a next working day service. It also offers a free access survey, covering powered access lifts for the less able, in conjunction with the client.

School Lifts and University Lifts

It’s vital to install a lift within your school so that all students, regardless of needs, can receive a vibrant education and learning journey. Whether it be platform lifts, an external platform lift, or a wheelchair stair lift, we’re confident we’ll have the solution for your establishment.

High numbers of staff and students are on the move at particular times throughout the day. This is why we make sure our lifts installed provide years of safe operation allowing access for the less abled.

As well as making sure the safety aspects are in place; we take into account the aesthetics of how the platform lift will look and fit into your building to ensure it is visually pleasing and comfortable for all users. Our passenger lifts can cater for both less abled individuals, as well as fully mobile people. Eliminating the increase of stair use will reduce risk of injury to all individuals in the building.

Both internal and external stairs can prove difficult for the less abled, and we can help with either scenario. We take pride in our efficient service and don’t just install your lift but also offer warranty, servicing and take into consideration legal responsibilities and requirements.

We've fitted lifts in schools and universities throughout the UK, and offer a range of solutions depending on your necessities. Take a look at our vast range of lifts available via the drop down menu.

Church Lifts

Churches are a place where people congregate to build a community and practice their religion. As a communal area that’s available to the public; accessibility should always be priority. Under the Equality Act, reasonable adjustments need to be made for people with different abilities; whether this is someone who’s mobile via a wheelchair (who may require a wheelchair platform lift), or anyone with physical problems that’ll find difficulty in moving around the premises.

Dependent on your facility layout, you may need to provide accessibility from one floor to the next, from the car park to the building etc. Here at Invalifts, we prioritise installing the best lift based on the facility type and your personal requirements.

As well as fitting lifts for safety reasons; it’s also important that your community and member of the public feel safe and still feel the need to stay with your particular church.

All previous clients have been overly satisfied with the finished results – this is because we don’t just install your lift and leave; we offer service and maintenance options to keep your installation fit for use. We've fitted a range of different platform lifts at churches and religious buildings around the UK. Below, you can read about some of the lifts we've fitted:
