New Platform lift joins exclusive Murrayfield Golf Club

Murrayfield Golf Club

Murrayfield Golf Club, situated just a mile and a half from the centre of Edinburgh, is one of Scotland's most famous courses, blessed with amazing views of Edinburgh Castle from the fairway. Established in 1896 during a period of blossoming interest in golf, with founder members living locally and membership originally limited to just 300 gentlemen and 200 ladies.

The present clubhouse opened in 1912 and underwent a major extension and renovation in 1988 offering superb views overlooking the 1st tee and 18th green. It has recently undertaken another refurbishment and as a part of this, the lift experts at Invalifts were contacted to supply and fit a platform lift to allow access to the upper floor of the clubhouse.

Invalifts worked closely with the architects to establish the correct specification of the lift to meet the needs of the club members and the MC2000 platform lift was chosen as the perfect solution for their requirements. The MC2000 is a high quality enclosed platform lift with a unique twin guided chain drive system offering a very smooth ride, with no need for a separate machine room which maximises the internal space of the lift.

The lift was installed with a glazed door at each landing to create a spacious, open feel to the unit, and the interior was specified with the 'exclusive oak' finish on the platform console for a touch of individuality. For ease of accessibility, automatic doors were chosen, with call buttons positioned both on the frame of the lift door and remotely. The whole installation was completed in just two days, minimising disruption and inconvenience to the club members. To ensure the lift continues operating safely and efficiently for many years to come, Invalifts have also been given the service contract to maintain the lift for the future.

This is one of many lifts that Invalifts have installed in commercial locations throughout the UK including lifts at the BBC, Next, Aldi and Wickes. To find out more about the MC2000 platform lift, you can give Invalifts a call on 0845 468 2543 and speak to one of their friendly experts.
